In the cemetery at Šentvid in Podjuna stands a memorial to the fallen partisans Franc Hobel and Ignac Žolnir, who lost their lives in the fight against fascism. Franc Hobel, known locally as Rojak, from Pogrč near Šentvid, born in 1914, fell in 1944 in Lobnik; Ignac Žolnir, born in 1912 in Slovenj Gradec, was a member of the intelligence centre of the Kokrški Detachment and was killed in 1945. Three brothers from the Hobel family – Franc, Feliks and Anton – were killed in the war as partisans, whilst their sister was taken to the Ravensbrück concentration camp. Since 2012, a commemorative plaque has honoured Terezija Mičej and her daughter, who were executed in Graz on 12 January 1945 for aiding the partisans; the Ročičjak family and others maintained contact with the resistance in Ettendorf (no Slovenian name given). In Šentprimož stands a monument to Janez Wutte-Luc, born in 1918 in Vesela, a partisan and later a leading figure among the Carinthian Slovenes, who served as president of the Association of Carinthian Partisans until 1997 and was, amongst other honours, awarded the Cross of Honour for the Liberation of Austria.
