This event serves to publicly voice the demand for the erection of a central monument in Carinthia/Kärnten, which should clearly highlight the crimes committed by Carinthian Nazis whilst also honouring the resistance in Carinthia/Kärnten and throughout the Alpine-Adriatic region. The WerkStattMuseum’s initiative is supported by a range of organisations and committed individuals who wish to send a clear message against the distortion of history and the risk of forgetting. Against a backdrop of growing interest in the anti-fascist culture of remembrance, strong engagement among young people and new initiatives against revisionism, the event is intended as a clear call for Carinthia/Kärnten be visibly integrated into the European heritage of anti-fascist resistance.
